News Rent and Crazy for You Will Be Part of Engeman Season The John Engeman Theater in Northport, Long Island, has announced its 2009-2010 season, which will feature resident productions of three Tony-winning musicals.

Launching the season will be the Gershwins' Crazy for You, running June 25-Aug. 16. The 1992 Tony winner, featuring a book by Ken Ludwig, is a western showbiz escapade incorporating hits from the Gershwin songbook.

Following will be the Long Island professional premiere of Jonathan Larson's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent, running Sept. 10-Nov. 1. The groundbreaking work resets Puccini's La Bohème in the East Village in the early 1990's.

The Engeman's holiday offering will be Miracle on 34th Street, based on the classic film. The stage production will run Nov. 19, 2009-Jan. 3, 2010.

The first production of 2010 will be Ray Cooney's British farce Run for Your Wife. The tale of the duplicitous London cab driver will run Jan. 21-Feb. 21, 2010.

Frederick Knott's 1950's thriller Dial "M" for Murder has been scheduled to play March 11-April 11, 2010, while the final production of the season will be the Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick classic Fiddler on the Roof. The Tony-winning musical, featuring a book by Joseph Stein, will run April 29-June 20, 2010. Season ticket renewals for the Engeman will go on sale Feb. 2. New subscribers may purchase season tickets March 12, and individual tickets go on sale to the general public May 1.
