Designers for Broadway's Rent and Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk were among winners of the 1996 American Theatre Wing Design Awards, announced Oct. 14
Formerly called the Maharam Awards, the prestigious design laurels were given for work during the 1995-96 season.

COSTUME DESIGN: Angela Wendt, Rent
NOTEWORTHY UNUSUAL EFFECTS: Julie Archer for puppets and Karen Ten Eyck for projects in An Epidog (Mabou Mines/Gertrude Stein Rep).
Judges for the awards were theatre critics Tish Dace, Jeremy Gerard, Alexis Greene, Henry Hewes, Jeffrey Sweet and Joan Ungaro.
