News "Rent" Earns Three Critics' Choice Award Nominations; "Producers" Gets Two Nods Both "Rent" and "The Producers: The Movie Musical" earned Critics' Choice Awards nominations, which were announced Dec. 11.

Bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the awards honor "the finest in cinematic achievement." The Chris Columbus-directed film of Jonathan Larson's "Rent" earned nominations for Best Acting Ensemble, Best Song ("Seasons of Love") and Best Soundtrack. "The Producers: The Movie Musical" was also nominated in the Best Soundtrack category as well as the Best Comedy Movie field; its competitors in the latter category include "The 40 Year Old Virgin," "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang," "Mrs. Henderson Presents" and "Wedding Crashers."

The 11th Annual Critics' Choice Awards will be presented Jan. 9, 2006, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. The WB television network will broadcast the event live.
