Will Democrats be hearing the cast of Rent singing "Seasons of Love on the opening night of their national convention Aug. 26? Will the unconventional musical go to the convention? Definitely maybe. Maybe even probably.
Rent publicist Don Summa says the cast will perform the song at the Chicago convention Monday night Aug. 26 sometime between 10 and 11 PM (ET).
But Delmarie Cobb, a press representative for the Democratic National Convention, said "The program has not been finalized," and would not disclose whether Rent was being considered.
However, Variety was reporting the appearance as a done deal, speculating only whether the company would perform "in full Rent regalia . . . or in some more subdued kind of mufti."
