The Rent actress is the first to film a public service announcemenbt in both English and Spanish, asking the public to join her in support of equal rights for LGBT New Yorkers.

“There is nothing more important to me than the love and commitment that a family brings,” Rubin-Vega explains. “That’s why I support equal marriage rights for all.”

Other notable figures to lend their support include Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Mayor Bloomberg, Moby, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, actress Fran Drescher, Julianne Moore and designer Kenneth Cole.

Upcoming videos promise Whoopi Goldberg, David Chang, Tom Colicchio, Ethan and Ryan Hawke, Christopher Meloni and Joan Rivers.
