On the June 14 broadcast of the singing competition, it was announced that America had voted to save Beverly McClellan from Team Christina. Judge Cristina Aguilera was then able to choose one other member of her four-member team to advance to the semi-finals; the Grammy-winning artist chose Davis.

Others who will compete in the June 21 at 9 PM ET broadcast include Dia Frampton and Xenia, both from Team Blake (Shelton).

There will be two rounds of semi-finals. Competitors from the teams of judges Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine, who performed live on the June 14 telecast, will compete June 28.

A finalist on the second season of "Idol," Davis has starred on Broadway in Rent and in tours of Dreamgirls; Sing, Mahalia, Sing; and Ain't Misbehavin'. She also played the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at Berkeley Playhouse.
