The Sh-K-Boom Records Concert Series will present an evening with Rent star Manley Pope in June. Pope, who currently stars as Roger in Jonathan Larson's Rent (Nederlander Theatre), will perform at The Cutting Room in New York City 11 PM June 19.
Pope recently completed his debut CD, "Pope," as well as the film, "Marci X," with Damon Wayans and Lisa Kudrow for Paramount Pictures. He starred in the first national tour of Rent, and his other theatrical credits include Twist of Fate, Summer and Smoke, As Is and At Home. Pope has also appeared on television in "Sweet Valley High" and "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" and on the silver screen in "Feeding the Machine," "Cry," "Exorcist III" and "Deuce Coupe."
There is a $10 cover charge for the concert to be paid at the door, and reservations can be made by e-mailing [email protected]. The Cutting Room is located at 19 West 24th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
