News Richard Eyre's Production of Ibsen's Ghosts to Transfer to West End's Trafalgar Studios Richard Eyre's production of Ibsen's Ghosts, currently running at London's Almeida Theatre through Nov. 23 only, is to transfer to the West End's Trafalgar Studios, beginning performances Dec. 9.

Trafalgar Studios has been the home of the Trafalgar Transformed season for director Jamie Lloyd's consecutive productions of Macbeth, The Hothouse and The Pride (with the latter extended through Nov. 23), so the transfer of Ghosts marks a hiatus in the ongoing initiative. But according to a report in the U.K,'s Daily Mail, "a second Jamie Lloyd season will kick off in the spring."

Full casting has not yet been announced for the transfer of Ghosts, but at the Almeida it currently features Lesley Manville, Jack Lowden and Will Keen.

In Ghosts, Helene Alving has spent her life suspended in an emotional void after the death of her cruel but outwardly charming husband. She is determined to escape the ghosts of her past by telling her son, Oswald, the truth about his father. But on his return from his life as a painter in France, Oswald reveals how he has already inherited the legacy of his father's dissolute life.

Eyre's other recent directorial credits at the Almeida include Nick Dear's The Dark Earth and the Light Sky, the original production of The Judas Kiss and a production of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler. He was previously artistic director of the National Theatre, and his other West End and Broadway credits include Mary Poppins. He is currently also directing Stephen Ward to premiere in the West End in December.

Booking is not yet open.
