News Richard Harris' Stepping Out to Tour U.K. Starring Amanda Holden Maria Friedman to direct a cast that also features Angela Griffin and Nicola Stephenson.

A new production of Richard Harris' stage comedy Stepping Out, originally produced in the West End in 1984 and subsequently seen on Broadway in a different production directed by Tommy Tune in 1987 before it was filmed in 1991 with a cast that included Liza Minnelli and Julie Walters, is to be staged for a U.K. tour.

Four-time Olivier-winning actress turned director Maria Friedman will direct the production that begins performances at Theatre Royal Bath October 12, prior to further visits to Richmond Theatre in south west London and Cambridge's Arts Theatre.

The cast will be led by Amanda Holden, best known as a judge on TV's Britain's Got Talent, who has previously starred in the West End in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Shrek the Musical. She is also known for her TV roles in Kiss Me, Kate; The Grimleys; Wild at Heart; and Cutting It.

Also in the cast are Angela Griffin and Nicola Stephenson. Griffin is best known for her TV appearances in Coronation Street, Holby City, Cutting It, Down to Earth, Waterloo Road and Lewis. She has also hosted her own live daytime show on Sky1 called Angela and Friends. Stage credits include One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2013 and Breeders at the St. James Theatre in 2014.

Stephenson's TV credits include Brookside, Christmas Lights/Northern Lights/City Lights, Safehouse, Emmerdale, Holby City, Clocking Off, The Chase, All at Sea, Homefront and Waterloo Road. On stage she has appeared for the RSC and National, including a stint in War Horse at the New London Theatre.
