Richard Holbrook Sings Burton Lane: A Centennial Celebration, which is directed by Richard Barclay, begins at 9:30 PM. Musical director Tom Nelson accompanies on piano.

Holbrook's show, according to press notes, covers Lane's "career as a composer beginning with his success at M-G-M as a motion picture songwriter of over thirty films leading up to his great triumph on Broadway with Finian's Rainbow and On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. The musical selections included in this show are songs written by Burton Lane with celebrated lyricists as Ira Gershwin, Frank Loesser, Harold Adamson, Ralph Freed, and of course, Alan Jay Lerner and E.Y. 'Yip' Harburg."

Holbrook has been seen on such hit television series as "The Sopranos" and "Spin City," and frequently appeared on "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." His first CD, "Richard Holbrook Steps Out," is available through e-mail at [email protected]. He has also played such nightspots as Don't Tell Mama and Feinstein's at Loews Regency.

The Metropolitan Room is located in Manhattan at 34 West 22nd Street. There is a $20 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 206-0440 for reservations or visit Metropolitan Room to book online.
