LOS ANGELES -- Richard III, William Shakespeare's tale of the power-hungry hunchback king, will open July 18 at the Knightsbridge Theatre, Pasadena, CA. In adapting the historical play "for modern audiences," director Joseph Stachura emphasizes Richard's obsession with power as manifest in the deception and murder with which he clears his way to the British throne.
Richard III will play 5 PM Saturday and 8 PM Sunday, through Aug. 30.
The Knightsbridge Theatre is a 99-seat playhouse in Old Town Pasadena, at the Braley Building, 35 S. Raymond Ave., between Colorado Boulevard and Green Street. Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $10 for seniors and students. For information and reservations, call (626) 440- 0821.
