The new ABC series will be written by Baitz and star Rifkin as Uncle Sol, the brother of the show's patriarch figure. It will be executive produced and directed by Ken Olin, the former "thirtysomething" actor who is now a busy director in television. Olin directed several episodes of "Alias," the espionage series than turned Rifkin into a small screen star. He played the evil underworld lord Arvin Sloane on the series, which concludes later this season. Baitz, who has spent the bulk of his writing career in the theatre, penned one episode for the program.
Baitz is the author of the plays The Substance of Fire, Three Hotels and The Paris Letter. Rifkin starred in all three.
