News Ring of Fire Tickets on Sale Dec. 19 Tickets to Broadway's new Johnny Cash-fueled musical, Ring of Fire, go on sale by phone Dec. 19.

The box office at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre will open on Jan. 9, 2006, but the general public can get tickets now at Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.

Previews begin Feb. 8, 2006, toward a March 12 opening.

Directed by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. (Ain't Misbehavin', Fosse), Ring of Fire "brings to life through the words and music, the stories made famous in Johnny Cash's songs."

The show features 38 of the country music legend's songs, including "Country Boy," "A Thing Called Love," "Five Feet High and Rising," "Daddy Sang Bass," "Ring of Fire," "I Walk the Line," "I've Been Everywhere," "The Man in Black" and his final hit, "Hurt."

Ring of Fire was created by Richard Maltby, Jr. and William Meade. Musical direction is by Jeff Lisenby and choreography is by Lisa Shriver. Ring of Fire is presented by William Meade, CTM Productions, G-Four Productions, Robert Cuillo and James B. Freydberg, who also serves as executive producer.

The show was embraced by critics in 2005 when it played a developmental run at Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo.
