An announcement of the ten-week extension is expected laster this week, Playbill On-Line has learned.

"We're selling out weekends and doing great business," a production source said. "We will be announcing a ten-week extension this weekend."

Based on the current box office receipts reported by the League of American Theatres and Producers, Riverdance is operating at 90.7 percent of capacity in the Gershwin, one of Broadway's largest houses. The show started previews March 3 and is scheduled to open on March 16.

Previews tickets run $20 -$75. Regular tickets are $25-$80 after the March 16 opening. The Gershwin Theatre is located at West 50th Street and Eighth Avenue. To order tickets call Ticketmaster (212) 307-4100.
