News Riverside's Les Miserables Storms the Barricades Beginning Feb. 21 The Riverside Theatre's resident production of Les Miserables, the international hit musical scheduled to return to Broadway in March 2014, begins its limited engagement Feb. 21.

Performances at the Vero Beach, FL, venue are scheduled to continue through March 17.

Directed by Allen D. Cornell, who is also the scenic designer for the show, the cast is headed by David Michael Felty as Jean Valjean, Todd Alan Johnson as Javert, Becky Gulsvig as Eponine, Traci Bair as Fantine, Sarah Stevens as Cosette, Bruce Landry as Marius, Peter Gosik as Enjolras, Kevin T. Collins as Thenardier and Alicia Irving as Mme. Thenardier. Gavroche is played by Noah David Felty and Bobby Miller III. Young Cosette and Young Eponine are played by Kristi Beckett and Sophia Liano.

The ensemble comprises Mark Willis Borum, Erik Bryan, Lani Corson, Victoria Huston-Elem, Jennifer Lynn Felty, Andrew Foote, Andrew Giordano, John Grieco, Sean Jernigan, Edward Juvier, Kristin Kelleher, Anna Kelly, Ben Mayne, Val Moranto, Anthony Nuccio, Will Sevedge, Matthew Charles Thompson, Dana Winkle and Karen Zondag.

With music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and an English adaptation by Herbert Kretzmer, Les Misérables is based on the novel of the same name by French author, Victor Hugo.

"Epic, grand, and uplifting," Les Misérables, according to press notes, "brings to life the tragic story of Jean Valjean, a convict, whose entire life is changed due to a single act of kindness. This beautiful tale, set in early 19th-century France, tells of the redeeming nature of forgiveness and the human sprit." The score features "I Dreamed a Dream," "Do You Hear People Sing?," "On My Own" and many others. The design team includes DJ Salisbury (musical staging), Ken Clifton (music director), Richard Mason (assistant scenic designer), Rafael Castanera (costume designer), Rob Siler (lighting designer), Craig Beyrooti (sound designer) with Mark Johnson (stage manager) and Amy Bertacini (assistant stage manager).
