News Rob Evan Will Star in Flat Rock's Les Miserables; Complete Cast Announced Rob Evan, whose Broadway credits include Jekyll & Hyde, Tarzan and Little Shop of Horrors, will play Jean Valjean in Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage's upcoming production of Les Miserables.

Evan, who also played the role on Broadway, will again step into the part created in London and on Broadway by Colm Wilkinson, July 10-Aug. 18 at the North Carolina venue. Artistic director Vincent Marini will stage the international hit musical.

"I am excited to be joining the Flat Rock family this summer in a show that has been such a large part of my career as an actor and singer,” said Evan in a statement. “I first saw Les Miserables as a college student at the University of Georgia, while studying business and playing football for the DAWGS. The experience literally changed my career course and I drove to Nashville for an 'American Idol'-style open audition later that year. I waited nine hours to sing a part of 'Bring Him Home.' They flew me to New York and three months later I was in the ensemble of the national touring company. After nine months of touring, they brought it to New York and gave me my Broadway debut, and later the lead role of Jean Valjean. I am looking forward to once more tackling this epic role and I am confident that your artistic director, Vincent Marini, is exactly the right creative force to make this a truly special experience."

The cast will also feature Linda Edwards (Madame Thenardier), Preston Dyar (Thenardier), Erin Mosher (Fantine), Brett Stoelker (Enjolras), Josh Adam Davis (Javert), Carolann M. Sanita (Cosette), Scott Richard Foster (Valjean Cover/Bishop), Charlie Brady (Marius), Jane Bunting (Eponine) and Tim Ellis with Mathew deGuzman, Tania Battista, Lauren Hopkins, Katie Zanca, Catharine Kay, Katie Mooney, Tara Lynn Steele, J.
