After an acclaimed Broadway and Off-Broadway run, The 39 Steps has become a popular title among regional companies across the U.S. Maxwell Williams will stage Patrick Barlow's stage adaptation of the film noir classic that will run through May 1.
Eli (Tartuffe, Saturn Returns, John Gabriel Borkman) is cast as Richard Hannay, opposite Pumariega ( The Witch of Edmonton, Catch 22) as Annabella/Margaret/Pamela. Steve French (In Transit, The Burnt Part Boys) and Noble Shropshire (Not About Nightingales, The Drowsy Chaperone) are Clowns 1 and 2, respectively.
The fast-paced stage production requires its four-member cast to inhabit over 150 different characters in a chase across England and Scotland after a beautiful spy leaks a deadly secret to stranger.
The 39 Steps will have scenic design by David M. Barber, costumes by Thomas Charles LeGalley, lighting design by Traci Klainer Polimeni, sound design by Fitz Patton and hair and wig design by Leah J. Loukas.
