News Robert I. Rubinsky is Bobby the Middle-Aged Celebrity at NYC's Theatre 80 Oct. 19 Howl! Arts Project 2011 and The Actors Fund present Bobby the Middle-Aged Celebrity: The Nvr 2 L8 2 B Famous Musical, starring original Hair cast member Robert I. Rubinsky, Oct. 19 at Theatre 80.

The one-night-only performance, scheduled to begin at 8 PM, is directed by Natalie Mosco, who also starred with Rubinsky in the original cast of Hair. The production features musical direction by Larry Spivack.

Bobby the Middle-Aged Celebrity, composed and performed by Rubinsky, is described as an "autobiographical musical comedy." The production, according to press notes, "is one man's journey to become famous, a brand, a household name. Bobby has had many incarnations in this quest, almost getting to the top, then falling flat on his face. As the years fly by, the show touches on his upward and downward climbs, and with his inspiring self-help tapes, culminates with superstardom and his entrée into the political arena."

Bobby the Middle-Aged Celebrity began workshop performances March 18 at the WorkShop Theater Company's Jewel Box Theater.

Howl! Arts Project was conceived as a vehicle to benefit H.E.L.P. (Howl! Emergency Life Project), the newly established emergency assistance fund supporting East Village artists of all disciplines, which also provides all services offered by parent administrator The Actors Fund.

Theatre 80 is located at 80 St. Marks Place. For more information and tickets, visit www.howlfestival.com or http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/200439.
