What child hasn't wanted to run away from his family at some point? In Robert Siegel's new play Katmandu, the lead character has these same feelings — but he's 50. The drama, presented by the North Carolina Film Foundation and Art of Building, plays a limited engagement July 5-29 at the John Houseman Studio Theatre. Opening night is set for July 8.

Vincent Cercare, the aforementioned senior, has finally decided to leave his family and daily routine behind. But, on the night prior to him leaving, his son is apprehended for cocaine possession.

Playwright Siegel performs the roles of father, son, wife and more by himself in the production. Patricia Clark helms the solo-show which runs approximately 75 minutes without an intermission.
