News Rock of Ages Will Play Japan; Casting Announced A new Japanese-language production of the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages will begin performances Oct. 28 at the Tokyo International Forum.

The production will continue through Nov. 6 before traveling to Osaka (Nov. 11-13) and Fukuoka (Nov. 19).

Renowned Japanese singer Nishikawa Takanori (also known as T.M. Revolution) will lead the cast as Drew in this classic rock love story that features major hits from the 1980’s, including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don’t Stop Believin’” and more.

The cast will also feature Hitomi Shimatani as Sherrie, Yuta Yamazaki as Stacee Jaxx, Yumiko Takahashi as Justice, misono as Regina, Ray Fujita as Franz, Yu Ishibashi as Mayor and more, Myosei Mayumi as Waitress and more, Takeshi Nadagi as Dennis, Soma Suzuki as Hertz and Jay Kabira as Lonny.

The creative team for the Japanese production includes writer Chris D’arienzo, director/Japanese script writer Katsuhide Suzuki, music director Yasuaki Maejima, lyric translator Akio Inoue, translator Yuji Kitamaru and choreographer NAO.

Rock of Ages is produced on Broadway and worldwide by Matthew Weaver, Carl Levin, Jeff Davis, Barry Habib, Scott Prisand and Relativity Media. The Tokyo engagement is also produced by Nippon Broadcasting Inc./WOWOW. The Japanese license was arranged by Adam Gentle at the Broadway Asia Company.
