News Rod Blagojevich Super Star! Musical to Debut at Second City Chicago's comedy institution Second City has announced that its theatrical arm will premiere a new musical based on embattled Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.

Rod Blagojevich Super Star!, a new musical spoof incorporating themes from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar and Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, will premiere Feb. 3 in the Windy City. A press opening has been set for Feb. 10. Ed Furman and T.J. Shanoff are penning the musical, which will send-up Blagojevich's pompadour hair-do while replacing Jesus and Mary Magdalene with Rob and Patti Blagojevich, and including "apostles" Roland Burris, Patrick Fitzgerald, Dick Mell and Lisa Madigan.

Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich found himself at the center of a political scandal after federal wiretaps revealed he sought kickbacks for appointing a new senator to fill the position vacated by President Obama.
