News   Rodriguez to Direct Paradise Lost at the Intiman; Casting Announced
Casting has been announced for the Intiman Theatre production of Clifford Odets' Paradise Lost, which will launch the 2010 season at the Seattle company March 19.

Dámaso Rodriguez will direct the Depression-era family drama that will officially open March 26 and run through April 26. The 2010 Intiman season marks the first under the artistic direction of Kate Whoriskey, who staged the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Ruined Off-Broadway last season and is currently represented on Broadway with The Miracle Worker.

The cast will include Bradley Goodwill, Tim Gouran, Seán G. Griffin, Elise Karolina Hunt, Lori Larsen, Shawn Law, Marty Mukhalian, Brandon Whitehead, Nathan Patrick Agin, Erin Bennett, Matt Gottlieb, Michael Mantell, Eric Pargac and Herschel Sparber.

Paradise Lost, according to the Intiman, "conjures a time when gangsters, dreamers, agitators and idealists formed the hopeful heart of the American Dream. This rarely produced classic takes us into the home of Leo and Clara Gordon, a middle-class family in the early days of the Great Depression. In these hardscrabble times, the ground is shifting beneath their feet. Relationships are fragile, the way of doing business is changing and, just outside their door, the precarious economy threatens to upend the world. For the Gordons, everything is at risk—except hope."

Designing Paradise Lost are scenic designer Tom Buderwitz, costume designer Leah Piehl, lighting designer L.B. Morse, sound designer Joseph Swartz, dialect coach Judith Shahn and fight choreographer Geoffrey Alm.

Tickets for productions at the Intiman, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center, can be purchased by calling (206) 269-1900. For more information visit
