News Rodriguez to Portray Gay Role on "One Life to Live" Broadway actor Nicholas Rodriguez will join the cast of the ABC daytime soap opera "One Life to Live" Aug. 14.

Rodriguez, who is currently appearing in the Joe DiPietro-David Bryan musical The Toxic Avenger Off-Broadway at New World Stages, has been cast as Nick, a new gay character on the long-running television series. Representatives for "One Life to Live" state that Rodriguez's role will be part of the Fish (Scott Evans) and Kyle (Brett Claywell) storyline. Rodriguez appeared in the Broadway production of the Disney musical Tarzan, understudying the title role. He has also appeared in the Los Angeles company of 10 Commandments and Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver Off-Broadway. The singer actor has been part of the workshops of the Broadway-aimed musical Angels.
