Heather Mitchell, a co-executive producer on Shonda Rhimes' hit ABC series "Scandal," has penned the script and will executive produce along with Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Michael R. Goldstein.
Set in 16th-century Verona, "Still Star-Crossed," according to Deadline, "picks up where William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet left off, charting the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate."
The new series is based on Melinda Taub's book.
