The series, which is scheduled to return in March 2012, will also feature a guest appearance from Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong (American Idiot), according to a report on E! Entertainment.
As previously reported, Tony winner Joel Grey (Cabaret, Anything Goes) will guest star on the fourth season, and Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale (The Motherf**ker With the Hat) will join the cast as a hospital administrator.
"Nurse Jackie" stars Edie Falco, who was last seen on Broadway in The House of Blue Leaves. The series also features stage actors Eve Best (The Homecoming), Dominic Fumusa (Wait Until Dark) and Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992).
