Roundabout Theatre Company presents Spring Gala 2016: Celebrating 50 Years of Extraordinary Theatre Feb. 29. The evening, hosted by Nathan Lane, celebrates the company's achievements and recognizes the accomplishments of Audra McDonald and Roundabout’s chairman of the board Tom Tuft.
Each is being presented with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre at a ceremony in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria, New York. The evening begins at 7 PM with dinner and a live auction, followed by a musical tribute, hosted by Tony winner Lane and directed by Scott Ellis.
McDonald, who was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people, has won Tony Awards for her roles in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.
