News Royal Shakespeare Company Present Jacobean Season at Gielgud

After a difficult year, The Royal Shakespeare Company seems back on track with the transfer, early in December, of the RSC's Jacobean season, which was a great success for director Greg Doran earlier this year.

The Jacobean season will be presented at the Gielgud Theatre, by arrangement with Thelma Holt and Bill Kenwright, over eight weeks from Dec. 5, 2002, to Jan. 25, 2003.

The plays involved — The Malcontent by John Webster & John Marston; The Island Princess by John Fletcher; The Roman Actor by Philip Massinger; Edward III by Shakespeare; and Eastward Ho! by George Chapman, Ben Jonson & John Marston — will be performed by an RSC company of 28 actors headed by Sir Antony Sher.
