Daphne Rubin-Vega's Broadway credits include a few women who could have used some real help — Mimi, the druggie, AIDS-infected stripper in Rent and Magenta, the freaky sister-lover from another world. Oct. 19, however, she wants to help. As such, she'll reach out to victims of the World Trade Center disaster by donating all the proceeds from her CD "Souvenirs" sold at her two Bottom Line performances. Rubin-Vega made her Broadway debut (and netted a Tony nomination) as Mimi, then landed movie roles in "Wild Things" and "Flawless." She released a self-titled CD, then took an Off-Broadway role as an opressed Muslim woman in Gum and a Cuban woman in Two Sisters and a Piano before returning uptown for Rocky Horror.
Tickets to the concerts (7:30 PM and 10:30 PM) are $20. The Bottom Line is located at 15 West 4th Street at Mercer. For reservations, call (212) 228-6300.
