News Ruth Williamson Stars in MCC's NY English Teachers, Apr. 7-May 1 Ruth Williamson, recently seen in dual roles on Broadway in the Martin Short-Faith Prince revival of Little Me, will star in Edward Napier's The English Teachers at Off-Broadway's MCC Theater -- the company that produced this season's hit play, Wit. The production begins previews Apr. 7, opens Apr. 21 and runs through May 2.

Ruth Williamson, recently seen in dual roles on Broadway in the Martin Short-Faith Prince revival of Little Me, will star in Edward Napier's The English Teachers at Off-Broadway's MCC Theater -- the company that produced this season's hit play, Wit. The production begins previews Apr. 7, opens Apr. 21 and runs through May 2.

Williamson plays Ruthie, a husband-hungry resident of a small West Virginia hamlet, circa 1960. Other characters in the play include Victoria, who has ambitions to be elected to the State House of Delegates; Polly, whose ambition is directed toward New York; and Libby, whose ambitions concern Bobby.

Also in the cast are Alma Cuervo, Jeffrey Donovan, Pat Nesbit, Sally Parrish and Amy Whitehouse. MCC executive director Robert LuPone directs.
