lastminute.com/theatrenow Ruthie Henshall, who starred as Roxie Hart when Chicago premiered at the Adelphi back in 1997, is to return to the show as Velma Kelly, the part played by Ute Lemper in the original West End cast.

Ruthie was visibly pregnant during the master class on musical theatre that she gave last year at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. Having had a baby girl, word is that she is now heading back to the stage.

She was last seen in the West End in the entertaining but ill-fated Peggy Sue Got Married, a celebration of 1950s America. She played Velma on Broadway in 1999, earning rave reviews.
