News Rx: Music! St. Vincent's Staff Stages Benefit Revue, With a Visit by Avenue Q Vet St. Vincent's Players, the non-profit organization of St. Vincent's Hospital known for its benefit shows starring doctors and nurses, has a new prescription: Music Makes the Best Medicine.

The troupe founded by surgeon Vincent Scarpinato and internist Jacqueline Perez presents the revue (sponsored by Calvin Klein) at Danny's Skylight Room in the midtown theatre district 7 PM July 13-15.

Music Makes, a benefit for breast cancer, will feature the St. Vincent's Players' executive producer Dr. Vincent Scarpinato with special guest star John Tartaglia (of Avenue Q).

Eric Armstrong directs, with musical direction by Patrick Barnes.

All proceeds from this benefit will be donated to Gilda Radner's organization Gilda's Club NYC, which helps support breast cancer patients and their family. For further information on Gilda's Club, visit them at www.gildasclubnyc.org.

St. Vincent's Players is comprised of doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Its mission is to raise money for worthy charities while providing quality entertainment. Some of our previous benefits have been in support of Homes for the Homes, Comic Relief and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, as well as the SRO/Community Medicine Program and the Pediatric and Adolescent HIV Program of St. Vincent's Hospital.

Some of its previous benefits included Home, All Aboard for Broadway, Side By Side By Sondheim, Closer Than Ever, The World Goes 'Round, Pippin, Godspell, Into the Woods, Guys & Dolls and Lend Me a Tenor.

Most recently, the Players offered The Story Goes On & On as a breast cancer benefit during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
