Nominations for the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced December 13 in Los Angeles, with a handful of stage alums picking up nods for their TV and film performances.

Tony winner Laurie Metcalf (A Doll's House, Part 2) and The Crucible alum Saoirse Ronan were nominated for their supporting and leading performances in Lady Bird, respectively. The nominations follow a steady course of recognition for their work in the comedy, including Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nominations.
The ensemble was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture; the roster features a number of stage alums, including Tony winner Tracy Letts, Tony nominees Lois Smith and Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Hello, Dolly!'s Beanie Feldstein.
Additional Tony winners to earn nominations for film work include Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Denzel Washington for Roman J. Israel, Esq., Judi Dench for Victoria & Abdul, and Richard Jenkins for The Shape of Water.
In the small screen categories, Tony winners Jessica Lange, Lily Tomlin, and Geoffrey Rush received nods for Feud: Bette and Joan,Grace and Frankie, and Genius, respectively, as did Tony nominees Jeff Daniels (Godless), David Harbour (Stranger Things), Laura Linney (Ozark), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), and Sean Hayes (Will & Grace).
The 24th annual awards will take place January 21, 2018, in a ceremony hosted by Kristen Bell and airing on both NBC and TNT. For the complete list of nominations, visit SAGAwards.org.
