Striking members of the Screen Actors Guild will rally at 11 AM, Sept. 18 at the "boat" on the southwest corner of Central Park at Columbus Circle before marching downtown on Broadway to the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Broadway and 49th Street. At the Crowne Plaza, union organizers told Playbill On-Line, actors will encircle the block and conduct a "silent demonstration" while contract talks between SAG and sister union AFTRA take place inside the hotel with commercial producers.

SAG has held successive celebrity-packed rallies and demonstrations this past week to bring pressure on the large corporations that produce commercials.

Actor Tim Robbins, an active leader in the high-profile media effort told Playbill On-Line he and his celebrity peers would continue their campaign as long as it takes. Asked if he would be at Columbus Circle Monday, Robbins said, "You bet."
