News Samantha Spiro and Bette Bourne Cast in Eve Best's Production of Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe in London Samantha Spiro joins the previously announced Joseph Millson to star in Eve Best's new production of Macbeth, which begins performances June 22 at Shakespeare's Globe in London, prior to an official opening July 2 for a run in rep through Oct. 13.

Spiro returns to the Globe, where she was seen last year as Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew. Other recent credits include Filmena at the Almeida and Chicken Soup with Barley at the Royal Court. She has won Olivier Awards for Merrily We Roll Along (Donmar Warehouse) and Hello, Dolly! (Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park). Also announced is Bette Bourne, the performance artist and actor who will play the Porter; Bourne has previously appeared at the Globe as the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet in 2004. Other credits include playing Quentin Crisp in Resident Alien at the Bush, and in his own autobiographical A Life in Three Acts with Mark Ravenhill (at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and London's Soho Theatre), and The Vortex (Donmar Warehouse).
