SAN DIEGO -- More than 70 local performers will take part in 24 new and old one-act plays during the 8th Annual Actors Festival, Mar. 24-April 5.
Produced by the Actors Alliance of San Diego, the eclectic festival includes six original pieces by AASD members plus the local premieres of works by Lanford Wilson, Joyce Carol Oates, David Mamet, Christopher Durang, Thornton Wilder and Michael Christofer.
A special feature of the festival is "Kid's Night Out," two evenings devoted to works suitable for younger audience members and their families.
All performances are at St. Cecilia's Playhouse, 1620 Sixth Ave. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $7 for students and seniors; $5 for AASD members. There is a $45 general pass (good for all nights of the two-week run) and a $30 AASD member pass.
