Classic Arts News San Francisco Performances Announces 2005-06 Season San Francisco Performances will host appearances by the Paul Taylor Dance Company, the Philip Glass Ensemble, pianist Yundi Li, and baritone Thomas Hampson in 2005-06, the 26-year-old presenter announced.
Glass and his group will perform the composer's landmark scores for the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi.

Other highlights include a recital by mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade accompanied by composer and pianist Jake Heggie; a performance by the guitar-playing brothers S_rgio and Odair Assad; and a gala fundraiser on October 14 with the Alexander String Quartet, pianist Fred Hersch, and the Paula West Trio.

The chamber music series includes the Tokyo String Quartet, Eroica Trio, Belcea Quartet, and Skampa Quartet. Among the recitalists on the schedule are mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux, baritone Matthias Goerne, soprano Barbara Bonney, countertenor Andreas Scholl, and pianists Radu Lupu, Paul Lewis, Marc-Andr_ Hamelin, and Ignat Solzhenitsyn. Clarinetist Richard Stolzman and pianist Emanuel Ax will appear together, as will violinist Daniel Hope and pianist Sebastian Knauer.

Jazz performers include pianists Kenny Barron and Uri Caine.
