Sandra Shipley has been cast in the role of Lady Wishfort in the Yale Repertory Theatre anniversary production of William Congreve's The Way of the World.

Directed by Yale Rep's artistic director Stan Wojewodski, Jr., the classic comedy of manners runs Feb. 9 - March 3 at the University Theatre in New Haven, CT.

A Yale Rep vet, Shipley performed in the company's 1996 world-premiere production of Venus by Suzan-Lori Parks and The Adventures of Amy Bock by Julie McKee in 1997. Her theatre credits also include "the Broadway production of Indiscretions, the Roundabout Theatre Company's productions of Arms and the Man and The Deep Blue Sea, the Joseph Papp Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival's production of Venus, and the Classic Stage Company's production of Phaedra in Delirium" among others.

The Way of the World features a theme of "Brits behaving badly" as "clever lovers plot multiple courses to betrayal, wealth, extra-marital dalliances, and the first pre-nuptial agreement." The play was first performed 300 years ago.

Tickets range from $20 - $36 with discounts are available for students, senior citizens and groups. The University Theatre at Yale is located at 222 York St. In New Haven, Conn. For information call (203) 432-1234. —By Murdoch McBride
