Photographer Sara Krulwich, costume beader Bessie Nelson, and Broadway dry cleaning service Ernest Winzer Clearners will receive special honors at the 2018 Tony Awards. The three have been named recipients of the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theater.

Krulwich serves as the first designated culture photographer for The New York Times, having initially joined in 1979 covering sports and politics. She documents over 100 theatrical plays and musicals a year for the publication, with her production photography appearing in the Times' reviews, features, and more (as opposed to photography traditionally provided by producers).

Nelson has worked on costumes for stage and screen, having collaborated with such designers as William Ivey Long, Greg Barnes, Ann Roth, and Catherine Zuber. Her beadwork can currently be seen on Broadway in such productions as The Lion King, Chicago, Aladdin, Frozen, Hello, Dolly!, and Summer.

Ernest Winzer Cleaners, founded in 1908 and now operated by Bruce Barish, provides cleaning service to myriad Broadway productions.

As previously announced, Chita Rivera and Andrew Lloyd Webber will also receive special awards at the 72nd annual ceremony—for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre—while Nederlander Organization Executive Vice President Nick Scandalios has been named recipient of the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for humanitarian efforts.

The 2018 Tony Awards, hosted by Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban, will take place June 10 at Radio City Music Hall. Nominations will be announced May 1.
