News Sarah Jessica Parker Lands Lead Role in New Film Sarah Jessica Parker, the stage and screen star best known for her work in the long-running HBO series "Sex and the City," has landed the leading role in the new film "All Roads Lead to Rome," according to Deadline.com.

Principal photography for the romantic comedy is scheduled to begin this month in Italy.

Ella Lemhagen is directing the film; the Swedish director co-wrote the screenplay with Cindy Meyers and Josh Appignanesi.

Parker stars as Maggie, "an uptight American on a road trip throughout Italy with her Italian former lover Luca as they seek out Maggie’s rebellious teenage daughter," according to Deadline.

An Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner for her work as Carrie Bradshaw on HBO's "Sex and the City," Sarah Jessica Parker's Broadway credits include The Innocents, Annie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Once Upon a Mattress.
