Ruhl is the Pulitzer Prize finalist whose work includes Dead Man's Cell Phone at PH; The Clean House; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Passion Play, a cycle; Melancholy Play; Eurydice; Orlando; Dear Elizabeth; and Late: a cowboy song.

Stage Kiss will reunite Ruhl and director Rebecca Taichman, who previously collaborated on the world premiere of Dead Man's Cell Phone, the New York premiere of Orlando and the Washington, DC, premiere of The Clean House.

Stage Kiss will play February-March 2014 in the Mainstage Theater of Playwrights Horizons' home on West 42nd Street. The play had its world premiere at The Goodman Theatre in Chicago, IL, in May 2011.

Here's how Playwrights Horizons bills Stage Kiss: "Art imitates Life. Life imitates Art. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage. Sarah Ruhl's singular voice returns to Playwrights Horizons with Stage Kiss, a charming tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss — or when actors share a real one."

Read about the rest of the previously announced titles of Playwrights Horizons' 2013-14 season, which includes three world premieres and two New York premieres (including a new musical).

Playwrights Horizons is under the leadership of artistic director Tim Sanford and managing director Leslie Marcus.
