News Schwartz and Wicked Cast to Be Part of Scholarship Competition at Human Race Cast members from the national tour of Wicked will perform during the Human Race Theatre Company’s Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Scholarship competition March 1 in Dayton, OH.

Established in 2007, the Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Scholarship was created to support singer/actors in the greater Dayton area who are pursuing training for a career in musical theatre.

Schwartz will serve as one of the judges for the competition that will be emceed by Wicked tour cast member Daniel Torres. Cast members from the production will also perform.

Students competing for the scholarship are Rachel Jones, Andrew Koslow, Charity Farrell, Hilary Fingerman, Kelsey Hopkins, Charlie Mann and Alexandra Sunderhaus.

Participating students must perform two musical theatre songs, one penned by Schwartz. The audience will also be able to vote for the winner. The Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Scholarship competition will be held at the Schuster Center.
