Two of science fiction legend Ray Bradbury's shorter plays will be staged by HSA Production at NYC's Blue Heron Arts Center, opening June 22 for a run through July 11.
Flight! is an evening of theatre consisting of two short Bradbury pieces. The Flying Machine is set in China, circa 400 AD, where Emperor Yuan discovers that one of his subjects has invented a machine which gives men flight; Kaleidoscope takes place in the future, where a group of astronauts are involved in a special outer space mission.
The cast for Flight includes: Arthur Atkinson, Russell Bennett, Marina Celander, Katherine Irvine, Jonathan MacQueen, Michael Shawn Montgomery, Jocelyn Rose and Cheryl E. Simone. Hilary Adams will direct both shows.
Though known primarily for his novels ("The Martian Chronicles" and "Fahrenheit 451"), Bradbury has also adapted many of his pieces for the stage.
