Scott Ehrenpreis' solo show Clowns Like Me is set for an Off-Broadway premiere at the DR2 Theatre this summer. Performances begin June 21 for a limited engagement through August 18, with an official opening June 30.

Jason Cannon wrote Clowns Like Me based on Ehrenpreis' life, and will also direct. The show depicts Ehrenpreis' challenges living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD, bipolar disorder, social anxiety, and depression. Along his journey, Ehrenpreis discovers that the stage becomes a sanctuary, allowing him to step into the spotlight of empowerment and self-expression.

During the Off-Broadway run, Clowns Like Me will partner with a series of relevant local organizations, the first of which is the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-NYC).

"We are proud to partner with Clowns Like Me, a production which breaks the stigma around living with mental illness for individuals and their families," Matt Kudish, CEO of NAMI-NYC, said in a statement. "We're excited to see NAMI-NYC featured in the show as a free mental health resource and community for New Yorkers and beyond."

The creative team includes lighting designer Xiangfu Xiao, production manager Tech Without Tears, and general manager Mott/Fischer Productions.

Clowns Like Me is produced by Lifeline Productions, The Doll-Loesel Foundation, and The Dena Wirt Trust, and by special arrangement with Daryl Roth Productions. Jonathan Demar is executive producer.
