The Goldthread Theatre Company will present Scottish playwright, Sharman Macdonald's The Brave at OB's Atlantic Theatre, July 13 - Sept. 5, with an official opening on July 22.

The Goldthread Theatre Company will present Scottish playwright, Sharman Macdonald's The Brave at OB's Atlantic Theatre, July 13 - Sept. 5, with an official opening on July 22.

In The Brave, Ferlie, a Scottish housewife, has traveled to North Africa for a long-awaited reunion with her estranged sister. The play opens with Ferlie standing over the body of a dead man who tried to rape her. Trouble ensues for Ferlie, not only because she murdered a man, but because she's a foreigner who has killed a Muslim man in the country of his birth. The play continues with Ferlie and her sister trying to escape the trouble they are in.

Other plays by Macdonald include: When I Was a Girl I Used to Scream and Shout, The Winter Guest, When We Were Women, All Things Nice, Shades, After Juliet, and Borders of Paradise.

David Mowers will direct a cast including: Kimberly Anne Ryan, Aasif Mandvi (1999 OBIE Winner for Sakina's Restaurant), Alice Barden, Randy Scott and David Marantz.
