Other Broadway performers, surprise guests and carolers are expected for the non-sectarian shindig, which is free and requires no reservations.

Last year's lighters were headed by Nathan Lane (Love! Valour! Compassion) and Carol Channing (Hello, Dolly!). According to presenters TDF, BC/EFA and the Times Square Business Development Service, "The Broadway Holiday Tree is lit in honor of those we love, remembrance of those we've lost, and in celebration of the joy of the season."
