SAN DIEGO -- The Actors Alliance of San Diego will present a staged reading of Eugene O'Neill's epic drama Mourning Becomes Electra Sun. June 6 at 5 PM. The fund-raising event includes dinner at $30 a head.

O'Neill's 5-hour trilogy was based on Aeschylus' Agamemnon plays but was updated to the end of the Civil War in 1865.

The trilogy, directed by Alliance member Barbara Elliott, revolves around the Mannon family and features such actors as Michael Moerman, Rosinna Reynolds, D. Candis Paule, James Webb, Charlie Riendeau, George Flint, Katherine Faulconer, Trina Kaplan, Kurt Reichert, Louis Cabral, Susan Calusen, Tom Peters, Jack Banning, Shaun Evans and Priscilla Allen.

The evening opens with Homecoming, followed by a catered buffet dinner. The second play, The Hunted, will be succeeded by a coffee break and the evening's finale, The Haunted.
