News Sean Hayes Will Star in Comedy Pilot for NBC; Jim Parsons Will Develop YouTube's "Prodigies" for TV Tony Award nominee Sean Hayes, who will appear in the second season of the NBC musical drama "Smash," will produce and star in an upcoming comedy pilot for NBC, according to Deadline.com.

The network has given the green light to the project, written by Victor Fresco, which centers on Hayes, who must balance parenting his 14-year-old daughter who just moved in and dealing with a new boss at work.

Universal TV and Hayes and Todd Milliner's Hazy Mills will produce the untitled pilot. Hayes starred in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises.

In other television news, Jim Parsons, who was last seen on Broadway in Harvey, is developing a series based on "Prodigies," a YouTube series featuring real-life child geniuses.

According to EW.com, Parsons will collaborate with producing partner Todd Spiewak for the series, and the television version will be shopped to cable and broadcast networks at the upcoming annual Realscreen Summit in Washington, DC.
