Lizard Boy, which had a sold-out, acclaimed world-premiere run at Seattle Repertory Theatre last year, will receive private industry readings at Playwrights Horizons March 10 at 12:30 PM and 3 PM.
Justin Huertas, who also wrote the new work, will reprise his starring role for the reading, along with original co-stars Kirsten deLohr Helland and William A. Williams. Brandon Ivie, who helmed the Seattle premiere, will return to direct.
Lizard Boy is billed as a comic book/indie folk-rock musical, filled with “quirky romantic comedy antics and superhero mayhem.” It follows the story of Trevor, who has lizard skin and mysterious powers. The show was commissioned by Seattle Rep and was the recipient of four Gregary Awards, including Best New Play.
The reading is closed to the general public. Industry professionals interested in attending should inquire at [email protected].
