Seattle Repertory Theatre revives Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning A Delicate Balance Jan. 8-Feb. 17 in the Leo K. Theatre. Opening night is set for Jan. 15.

In A Delicate Balance, Agnes and Tobias are a middle-aged couple at war with Anges' alcoholic sister Claire. The three lives are disrupted by the arrival of Agnes and Tobias' daughter Julia, who, while fleeing her fourth marriage, upsets the home's "delicate balance." When the neighbors Harry and Edna, running from an unknown terror, invade the house, all those involved are stripped bare, revealing the secrets behind their carefully preserved facades.

Albee's past plays include the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Delicate Balance, Seascape and Three Tall Women, as well as the short works The Zoo Story and The American Dream. His Tiny Alice is running in revival at New York City's Second Stage through Jan. 7 while his newest work The Play About the Baby gears up for its New York City premiere Feb. 1 at Off-Broadway's Century Center.

Michael Winters (Wrong Mountain, The Cider House Rules) and Beth Dixon (Wrong Mountain) star as Tobias and Agnes with Barbara Dirickson as sister Claire. Jan Leslie Harding (The Green Bird, Killer Joe) is Julia with Philip Davidson as Harry and Lauren Tewes (TV's "The Love Boat") as Edna.

M. Burke Walker directs. Walker is founding artistic director of the Empty Space Theatre in Seattle, whom he remained with through 1990. His recent credits include The Beauty Queen of Leenane at Syracuse Stage and Seattle productions of Two Gentlemen of Verona and Strindberg (In Paris). Tickets are $42-$15. Seattle Repertory Theatre is located in the Seattle Center at the corner of Second Avenue and Mercer Street. For reservations, call (206) 443-2222.
