Marianne Owen and R. Hamilton Wright portray six characters in the work, which will officially open Aug. 21 and continue through Sept. 14. Intimate Exchanges follows Celia, the long-suffering wife of bitter, hard-drinking headmaster Toby Teasdale, and her efforts to forge a life of her own. On varying evenings the audience will be treated to a different ending for each act.
Owen, who has appeared in ACT's The Women and Stuff Happens, portrays Sylvie, Celia and Irene, while Wright (Stuff Happens, The Pillowman) is cast as Lionel, Toby and Miles.
The various endings for Intimate Exchanges (one for each act) are performed on a rotating schedule. The first preview and opening-night endings will be determined ACT artistic director Kurt Beattie.
